Clevelands Magnetic Bones ( Sub Fossils )

A few examples of sub fossils from local deposits that attract a magnet.

This Equus Skull easily attracted a small round rare earth magnet.

As did the bones below found and excavated about 3 miles away in fact the first pic show week kids magnets sticking.

The two images below show me scraping the inside of a freshly cut bone  after I had thoroughly cleaned it to remove any residual metal from the saw blade, I used a hard plastic scraper the inner bone material was found to be highly magnetic.

The video below shows an experiment I carried out with an antler piece.

PREHISTORIC CARVED BONE

This was my very first find regarding the Stainton Gravel beds, this carved bone has never been identified, by any amateur or professional that has viewed it. Sorry these pics aint great as I had to take them with a web cam back then.
The Artefact almost certainly had some kind of shaft inserted .
The carved surface is easily seen.

                                                      The prongs are almost identical

This piece was given to Peter Row of Tees Archaeology back in 2007 the bloke tried his hardest to get it identified but it never was.

Reconstruction of a Pagan gathering place. ( Masham , North Yorkshire )

The concept of this reconstruction in Masham, in my opinion, is great, and more should be built to allow our bairns the opportunity to see the real surroundings of their true Pagan ancestors, and not the concepts and ideas imposed on them via 'The History of Roman Propaganda'. Sites like this at one point existed all over Britain, but most are now scattered and unrecognisable to many. Although, lets not forget, from the North East of England to the North West of Scotland, there were outcrops of natural standing stones far more impressive than those made by man. The Dykes that run across the North would have had many exposed faces displaying a wall of Basalt, and in some cases Basaltic Andesite. The latter has magnetic anomalies, as I've reported many times during my research, and can naturally shine in both sunlight and moonlight, giving a possible explanation for the currently unexplained mystery of why the blue stones were transported such a distance to Stonehenge. Remember that one of the first of these stone structures is now widely accepted to have originated in the North, meaning they were more than likely spread from North to South, and not the other way around.

Celtic Civilisation began in Britain ?

For many years now we have been led to believe that Greece - Rome - Egypt were our cradles of Civilization , this is now being proved not to be so . New evidence now points to the likelihood that North west European civilizations were far more advanced in many ways .  There is growing evidence that civilization did not originate in the warm south eastern areas , and then spread north . but more likely the opposite !

The Nebra sky disk was discovered in northern Germany in June 2013 ,  and dated at 3016 years old this makes it the oldest astronomical record known . Add to that the fact that the materials it was made from originated in Britain , I think it tells its own story .

100.000 + PAGE VIEWS REACHED

Today after 7 years my blog passed 100.000 page views  , not bad for a specialised  subject focused on a 5 mile radius of Stainton Village .

Clevelands Malachite from the Stainton gravel beds

This piece is Malachite - pure copper ore .

Jasper from the Stainton gravel beds

I've now identified this piece as Jasper , the closest recorded occurrence I can find is in East Yorkshire , to the south of us with the Cleveland hills being a natural barrier from glacial transportation . As I've stated before I believe all of the well preserved mineral pieces ive found in the Stainton gravel beds , were transported to the area by man.

Triassic fossils found in Mercia mudstone

I believe I have found the fossils in the Mercia mudstone of Ancient Cleveland North East England .  I have recently collected several ripple and bed samples from the river Leven , and after cleaning Ime sure there are fossils in the samples .

The image above shows what I believe to be the fossil remains of a Triassic life form to the bottom left of the two reduction spots , the image zooms quite well .

Above close up of what I believe is a fossil in the Mercia mudstone of Cleveland .

Geological Surveys Boulder Clay . Still no sign of it in the South West of Ancient Cleveland !

The opening excavations at Hemlington , and yet again as in Yarm Thornaby , Coulby Newham the very same red clay as in the beck valleys , with no large stone content !

These excavations are 12 ft deep in places .

I have only ever noticed one constant in the superficial deposits of south west Cleveland , that is a definite relationship in colour with the red and blue Triassic Bed rock it sits above , although the superficial surface deposits are highly calcareous .

I have now viewed more new build sites between Redcar and Yarm with exactly the same findings , No Boulder Clay !
